Grove City, Ohio – Kern, Inc., the North American subsidiary of Kern AG, is announcing the launch of a new web-fed production drop-on-demand (DOD) press, the Kern iMpres. This marks Kern’s entry into the production printing sector of the document output management industry. The Kern iMpres will be supplied under OEM license agreement, also announced today, between Kern and Graph-Tech, AG, a Domino Group Company.

The new Kern iMpres is a monochrome high-speed inkjet printing press aimed at transactional / TransPromo production mail, book-on-demand and security print applications with 1200 dpi quality and speed of up to 492 feet per minute with web widths up from 17.5” up to 30”. The iMpres is a departure from traditional continuous feed printer designs with an extremely compact footprint and unique paper path that enables simplex, duplex and even duplex plus MICR in a single print engine enclosure. Advanced ink management systems ensure quality consistency and more reliable operation, resulting in stunning economics and a “no-click” pricing structure.

Kern Announces New Inserting Technology with Demonstration of the Ai-Class

 

Grove City, Ohio, October 4th, 2010 - Kern, a global leader in high-speed, end-to-end production mail solutions is pleased to announce today the demonstration of the next generation of inserting technology, the Kern Ai-Class of inserting systems. 

 

The Kern Ai-Class utilizes advanced electronics and high speed system communications to drive an intelligent, automated mail inserting system that produces up to 33,000 mailpieces per hour.  The Ai-Class of inserting systems is designed to give mailers a quick return on investment by delivering lower cost per mailpiece enabled with the unprecedented speed and production intelligence to make operators more productive. 

 

The first public demonstration of the Kern Ai-Class is at Graph Expo 2010 in Chicago, Illinois from October 3rd – 6th.  Exhibiting a direct mail model, The Kern Ai-33Direct will be featured in a technology demonstration highlighting the advancements in speed, document control, integrity, and operation efficiencies.

Kern Exhibits at Graph Expo 2010

The next generation of mail innovation will be presented at the years largest Print and Mail event with the demonstration of new inserting technology and ADF solutions.

 

Grove City, Ohio, September 24, 2010 – Kern, a global leader in high-speed, end-to-end production mail solutions is pleased to announce today that they will be showcasing new inserting technology at the Graph Expo in Chicago from October 3rd through October 6th.  In partnership with InfoPrint Solutions Company, Kern will also present the integration of mailFactory WorkCell with InfoPrint ProcessDirector to demonstrate a low-cost solution for reliable reporting and inserter control integrated into a print-to-mail workflow.

 

Kern’s newest inserting platform will be demonstrated for the first time at Graph Expo.  The new technology demonstration will feature a direct mail application that will highlight the systems speed and intelligence capabilities that bring new innovations to a production mail inserter.  In partnership with CodeZ QR, the direct mail application features an insert with an active QR code for visitors with mobile barcode readers to enter a daily drawing for a $50 iTunes Gift Card.
